Flag Football

At Framingham Youth Football and Cheer, we believe that everyone deserves to play sports, and that's where flag football comes in! This exciting and fast-paced version of football is perfect for kids of all ages and skill levels. Whether your child is a seasoned athlete or just starting out, flag football provides a fantastic opportunity to learn teamwork, develop new skills, and stay active in a fun environment.

Flag football is a non-contact sport that emphasizes the fundamental aspects of football, making it a great introduction for young players. The game is played with two teams, where players wear flags around their waist. Instead of tackling, players remove a flag from the ball carrier to stop the play. This means your children can enjoy the thrill of football without the roughness of traditional tackle football, making it safer for everyone involved!

Not only does flag football teach essential skills like throwing, catching, and running, but it also builds confidence and sportsmanship. Our experienced coaches focus on creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere where all kids can shine. For the third year, Framingham Youth Football and Cheer (FYFC) offers flag football for our Kindergarten to 2nd-grade children.  It is a Co-Ed opportunity for kids to play the sport.  We hope it will be successful and that it will be a stepping stone for our tackle football program.  

The season will start on Thursday, August 21st, 2025. 

We will have one practice every Thursday and the first game will be played on Sunday, September 7th,2025.  

Games are on Sundays when the tackle teams are playing at home, Flag games will be played at Framingham State University.  When the tackle teams are away, the games will be played at Fuller Middle School.
